International Admission Requirements

River of Life School of Ministry is happy to accept international students. Below is the process for attending River of Life.

Each student will need to apply for and receive a U.S. visa for your stay here. This can be either a B-1 or R-1 visa. Because of our unique training programs, we are not classified under the normal “school” classification by United States Immigration. Therefore, you are not considered a student, rather, you are coming under the category of a business (B-1) visa, not a student visa. Please do not request an I-20 Form from us (for a student visa), as we are unable to obtain these forms.

After your application for the school has been received and accepted, you will receive the papers that you will need to take to the U.S. Embassy or Consulate nearest you to apply for the B-1 visa. Please be aware that, as stated in a letter from a Consulate official, “…the burden of proof remains on the applicant to show his or her qualifications for nonimmigrant visa.” The letter we send will be the only help we can give. We have been informed that other letters to the Embassy do not help the applicant obtain a visa. U.S. Immigration is seeking to be satisfied that you are not taking a job away from a U.S. worker and you must show them evidence of social, family, or occupational ties which you have no intention of abandoning. Without sufficient evidence to prove you will be returning, your application will most likely be denied.

Your paid round-trip air ticket is very helpful evidence to show that you will be returning to your home country after your service here. However, you will need the following list of documents as well:

1. Your passport

2. Proof of strong ties to your country:
(Please note that without this proof, your visa will be automatically denied.)
a) Financial (bank accounts, property owned, etc.)

b) Social (family ties, letter from pastor/employer stating your intention to resume previous work with them upon your return.)

3. One of the invitation letters. (keep the other for when you enter the States)

4. The tax-exempt letter

5. The fee they require

6. Fill out the forms they provide (make sure to provide only the information given in the instruction letter.)

7. The ministry Foundational Values Statement

We understand this process is very difficult, however, we know that where God leads, he provides.
